How do I control an imported video?

I'm possibly being really blind and/or stupid here, but how do I control a video that I imported? e.g. pause it, fast forward etc? I have a video with a head turn that I want to use to trace, but I can't see how to play, pause, fast forward etc. to get it at the right points at the right time.

You can't, since AS doesn't provide any video controls.
Edit your video in a video editor so it only contains the frames you really need.

Oh ok, I knew AS isn't a video editor but I thought it would have the very basic video controls to help animate around videos you had created in other video editing software. Never mind, if it's not there, it's not there. I will do it another way. Thanks for your quick reply

Thing is you can use the normal AS controls for playing the video, once it's imported and shows up in the timline ... didn't you try that? Only it's much better to trim the video first, instead of trying to trace 3 frames from a 10 minute video.
