smart bone question.

Hi.

First, Here's how my character is set up. The Tom Layer has smart bone set up.

Tom
-head (bone)
--eye
--nose
--etc
--etc
-body (group)
-Larm(group)
and so on.

At first, I was thinking smart bones doesn't work with group within a group layers, but it turns out I was partially wrong. They work for child group layers, but not for child bone layers. Instead, any changes goes to either a regular action, or a morphed one action. Is there a way to force the head bone layer to have the same action as The Parent SB?

Smart bones work with child bones layers only if the child has no bones and it's not bound to any specific bone (via bind layer tool). A bone layer with no bones is the same than a group layer (in this case).
Anyway, on the Bones tab of each bone layer proprieties, check "allow nested layer control" is activated (if you open or import a 9.2 or older file, it will be unchecked by default)

I ran into another problem with SB. The layout is something like this.

Abby (Bone)
-Head (Bone) ( Smart bones applied)
--nose
--L ear
--R Ear
--R Glasses (Group)
---Glasses
---reflection
--Mouths (switch)

and so on and so on.

I wanted to apply Smart Bones to the R glasses group. I can apply them to the group layer, but not the sub layers. This is odd to me because applying SB to sub layers worked when I had problems with tom. For some reason, its keep forcing me to go into Regular actions. What confuses me even more is that for the mouth switch layer, the sub layers works for the SB.
