Quick question, could you tell me what determines whether curve profile will interprete my reference curve facing up or down.
For example a curve of rounded waves will sometimes show on my outlines as pointy waves ( the round shapes read upside down)
How to control that?
Thanks

Re: Curve direction
Am I to understand no-one knows the answer to such obvious question?
Or is it so evident I shouldn't even have asked?
I've researched it before hand tho, didn't find anything.

Re: Curve direction
If you could provide a screenshot then maybe people will understand what you're talking about.

Re: Curve direction
The curve profile must be aligned on a horizontal line right? So by nature there is a "up" and "down" to a curve profile (or "above " and "below")
In this screenshot, the blue rectangle is assigned my curve profile. I want my shapes to have the round outlines of the blue rectangle. But sometimes, for some reason I have yet to understand, it will give to a shape the upside down profile (pointy outlines).
However I always use the curve profile with the round corners facing up (the top one). Below I purposely flopped the curve vertically because I wasn't able to reproduce the problem but I still want you to see the difference. So my question is. What determines a curve profile to act in one direction or the other?

Re: Curve direction
Path direction. Each path in AS has a starting and an end point. Try drawing two shapes, one clockwise, one counterclockwise, and apply the same profile to them, they should turn out differently.
I'm afraid there's no tool to invert a path's direction in AS. But you can as easily flip the profile horizontally before applying.

Re: Curve direction
Makes sense. I've been using two profile curves as my in my screenshot and it's not too much trouble but I'll keep it in mind for later. Thanks!
