Smart bones - I get different interpolations when animatin

Hi,

I have tried this a few times, always starting from scratch, with different characters.
First, I create the smart bone actions, and test them carefully.
They look beautiful, and totally flawless.

Then, I go to the main timeline.
When I test it at frame zero, everything works just like in the smart bone action timelines.

But, when I start animating, that is, I create animation keyframes, the point interpolations look totally awful and don't work the way they are supposed to.

Again, at frame 0, the interpolations behave exactly the way I have designed them.
Then, on keyframes (and interpolated frames) it does something totally different.

I am sure it must be something I am doing wrong, but I can find it.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

You'd get a faster, and more accurate, response if you could share an example file that illustrates the problem. Otherwise, all we can do is make random guesses.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply.

Here's what I get after creating the smartbones.
(I get the same results in the smart bones actions and on frame 0 in the main timeline)

Then, when I add keyframes on the main timeline, I get different results:

Thanks, again.

And here is a link to the .anme file (111kbytes).

If someone would be kind to help me out...
I really have no idea what I did wrong.

Cheers!

You just need to delete the point motion keyframes from the mainline of the vector layers. Those keyframes are making interpolation targets that the SB actions cannot account for.

Wow.
Thanks, synth... you have just saved my weekend.
I'll pay attention to that from now on.

Yeah, easy fix, but nothing I would have been able to guess without seeing the file. Glad I could help.
