How do I duplicate bone rigging to save time?

Hello,
I would like to duplicate some rigged bones for the same character.
For example, I have the left leg of my character rigged with my bones along with some smart bone scripts and it's ready to go. I'd like to stay consistent (and cut out a lot of extra work) by copying the vector object with its rigging and scripts onto a new layer -- flip it horizontally and call it my right leg.
Can this be done? I can't seem to figure it out. I know I can copy bones and paste and I can make a copy of a vector layer, but this does not help with retaining any rigging info or smart bone scripts.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Renee
