Hello everybody!!
About a year ago I shared a 5 episode cartoon I made called Tribes. Well I'm very happy to announce that there is now a sequel!

.......................................................................................................................
If you never saw the first one and would like to check it out, you can find the original post here:

But if you don't feel like watching the original first, you won't really be out of the loop much. You might miss a joke or 2 referencing something in the first one, but that's about it really.
......................................................................................................................

If you like the first one I think you will like the sequel which, in my opinion, is better than the first.
I think it turned out a lot better, actually. A lot more polished than the first I think...The story is also more exciting in my opinion. The backgrounds are less detailed, but much more varied - which I like...it helps make the whole thing feel 'bigger.' There's also new characters. It's still definitely not perfect, but I am very proud of it!! I am responsible for everything visual except for a few resources (like some textures, and some explosions we purchased) which hopefully doesn't sound big-headed, but like I said - I'm just very proud of this piece! More proud of this one than the first! A friend named Chris Smith did most of the music and sound effects (we again used the Avengers soundtrack mostly).

AS was used for all animation except for 2 flying space-craft-things which were 3DS MAX. The intro titles was done in AE. Most compositing was done in AS, but a handful of shots were done in AE. Edited with Final Cut. All BGs created in Photoshop.

It was again made for a 5 day summer camp at my church, but this time for uploading to Vimeo, I placed all the episodes back to back to create one long movie (complete with credits at the end, haha!) instead of uploading 5 separate ones with a 'to be continued' at the end (which is how they orginally played during the summer camp). Although you'll probably be able to tell pretty easily how the original episodes were broken up. It's 32 minutes long!

Feedback, critiques, and comments are all welcome! I really hope you guys like it!

Just putting the effort into creating a solid 30 minute animation (even if it is 5 episodes joined) is to my mind monumental, since I find even a 30 second animation somewhat intimidating, so kudos to you for making a complete solid story. Absolutely amazing and I wonder how many hours upon hours you slaved over this? In any case, I very much liked the story (Avengers meets Wizard of Oz!), art style, the characters (esp. the reluctant pirate with slight Jimmy Stewart accent), the backgrounds, and the music, and most of all the enthusiastic message. Some of the things I really liked...

05:30 minions single eyeballs look at each other
06:12 pirate (hook) wants to pet sheep
08:57 ninja "we are all here together" but where's cowboy and viking?
10:21 inferno "you can follow me on twitter"
13:08 nice backlit shadow effect as they enter cave
18:17 heros all gasping in succession
22:19 gladiator keeps cheering

If you ever went back to polish it even more I was thinking maybe make lights blink or something flicker on The Master (Robot) when he is talking and also was wondering if superwoman can fly why she didn't break out of the ropes? Keep up the great work and see you on Cartoon Network!

Wow thanks, drichird ! I really appreciate the compliments! Yeah, it was a lot of work, I honestly lived at the office for a few months trying to get it done before it was due! It definitely got tiring, but was very fun to work on!

I'm glad you liked the story! At this point I don't think I'll be adding any more polish to this project (new projects beckon! ha), but there's most likely going to be a third one next summer, so maybe I will be able to add more polish to any robot characters that appear in that one. (although I don't think that particular villain will be making a reappearance - after being in the first 2, I think it's time for a new villain!)

Yeah, there's a bit of a plot hole with Vortex being tied up! ha! I explained it in my mind by saying since her hands were strapped to her sides she couldn't 'shoot' without destroying the lower half of her body, and the rope she was hanging from was too short to allow her to fly to anyone and help out....pretty weak I know! haha! But that's how I explained it in my head! Your the first person (besides myself) to actually bring it up! If you have any reasons that make more sense - let me know! Haha!

And as for Cartoon Network...*sigh*...maybe one day! Haha!! But seriously, thank you for the compliments, they are very much appreciated!

Dang. Very impressed. Best thing I've ever seen created in Anime Studio. Very polished!
