Is there a way to key noisy Outlines?

Hello!

I wonder if there's a way to key noisy Outlines - so - at the beginning the effect is not visible and
later on it starts...

I haven't found anything about it and I fear that it is not possible... :/

If not - does anyone has another idea how I can achieve such an effect without animating everything via hand?

I need a little jigger on some outlines at some time, but on other times it should not move...

Would be happy about help!

Best,
Mejin

I'd render these scenes two times, one pass with noisy outlines off, one time with noisy outlines on. Edit in video editor, it's even possible to blend.

Well... yes, I thought about that... :/ (Or just to duplicate the animation) - but it is for more scenes and I would need this every time... :/

Hmpf...

Thanks!

I wonder why you want to switch it off sometimes. Usually this effect is used to create "moving holds".

A second workaround came to my mind: you could duplicate the characters and give them different noise settings. Put them into a switch layer and change where necesaray. This avoids (time-consuming) double rendering.

Well, I need to animate some kind of threads - sometimes they are 'alive' and I need a little bit of a ground jitter in these moments...
so my idea was to use the noisy Outline-Effect for that moments.
(They get animated as well via SmartBones, but I would neet some kind of fast basic motion)
