Origin of particles in particle layer

I've created a particle layer that contains 3 sub-layers (Dollar, Pound, Euro). Now I wonder, why the Dollar particle's origin is not the same as the origin of Pound particle and Euro particle. When I select the sublayer at frame 1, every symbol (Dollar, Pound, Euro) is shown near the water cannon.

When I select the particle layer and look at the particles, the Dollar is created left of the water cannon.

Are you sure the $ layer origin is right under the sign? I can't see it. Use the origin tool "0" to reset.

Thanks for the help, resetting the origin solved the problem! :D

But I don't know why…

The origin of the $ layer was in the middle of the dollar sign. I'd expect that this would make the $ originate from this very place, but it doesn't. After resetting, the origin is slightly beneath the $ sign now and the $ jumped to the left. I moved it back at its place in front of the water cannon with the layer transform tool and then the $ particles originated from the water cannon like planned.

Maybe I just have to follow the rule "don't move the origin" when working with particles...

Well I guess that's the right thing to do as no problem will occur.
