This is great software for rendering painting on the basis of pictures, or even based on rotoscoping of low-res movies, as you can see in the site's gallery. Of course, paintings based on still pictures can be used as a background for you Moho projects.

There is a demo-version on the Synthetik website you can download. The demo can't save and shuts down after 40 minutes (after which you can restart it). The retail price is around 379 USD or 315 euro.
