After I work on a project and save it, I noticed that when I open it again, the tracing image is gone. Do I have to import the image each time I open the project?

I don't use Trace Image. I import an image as normal, then alter the transparency so I can use it to trace. That way you don't have to reload it each time. Yeah, I know, you shouldn't have to do this, but at least it's an easy workaround...
