Mayflies: The Life In A Day

Post by drumlug13 »

This one started out as about a 2 minute gag cartoon but I started drafting some friends from the St. Louis music scene in to help and it keeps getting longer. There's some rough spots but it has some funny parts. Hope you like it :D

Really nice job. Great movement and the pace is well maintained.

Wow, nicely done! It seems that you've evenly developed all the aspects of this film putting care into music, backgrounds, and nice head turns to name a few. Looks great!

Thanks... Compared to my other cartoons it's definitely progress.

One of the new techniques I started using in this one was a Smart Bone used to control the emotional shapes of the mouth. It was pretty nice being able to go from happy to freaked out with a bone rotation. It worked pretty well in some spots and in others it probably goes unnoticed, especially for characters without teeth. Lip sync is still the toughest part for me. I may need to just go back to using Papagayo.
