How change fill color for 3D object?

When I make a 3D object (ex. Scripts/3D/Cube), I get a 3D object, to which I can change the Stroke color, but not the Fill color. Is this how it's supposed to work and if so, why? I can change the 3D object by first choosing the Fill color and then running the script, but if I later want to change the Fill color it's greyed out. For the stroke color Everything works fine, I can change the colors later.
