Video Export Encoding Options

Hi!
Is there a way to configure the encoding options in video export? For example for the mp4 export? The bitrate is way too low to for a good quality!
Regards,
Daniel

Which operating system + version? Which video framework + version? Which installed codecs?

oh sorry, didn't know that this would be important for the included export options:
Windows 7 x64. Anime Studio Pro 10. Video Framework?
I have not installed any special codecs. Maybe the KLite or KMega Codec Pack, months ago... long before I installed AS.
It seems strange to me that this should matter. To setup the codec properties is a task of the software (AS), isn't it?

Well, the software developers can't know which codecs you have installed on your machine.
So AS asks the OS (operating systems) about a list of installed codecs, which you can choose from when rendering. Everything else is the job of the codec developers and the framework developers (framework: something like Quicktime or AVI.)
I wouldn't recommend any codec from some codec package as they're not targeting to production. Some video editing software will install their own range of supported codecs, some of the specific to professional workflows.

Yes, but AS uses (and installs?) a predefined list of codecs as far as I see. At least on Windows there is a "to-go" list and a sublist of "system codecs". the system codecs can be configured. The "to-go" codecs not. The mp4 codec is "to-go". So I ask myself why I can't configure the settings of it. Each other software I ever tried can do this. So I doubt thats a problem of the software that can't know the codec settings. I rather think it has just to call the settings page which the codec handles itself.
So I think AS has preconfigured the settings of its "to-go" codecs. And it seems there is no way to configure it by myself. Your answer means for me that I am lost with this. But thank you anyway! A negative answer is at least an answer.
May I be curious? Which output format do you use for export?

I use the PNG codec to export from AS: best quality plus transparency. Finished scenes go into Final Cut. From there I export h.264 or mp4 for online stuff, and 4:2:2 for broadcast.

For Windows Lagarith is a good option. You have to install it first, of course, but then it will be visible in every program.
It's lossless and has a good compression for cartoons.
