I have Anime Studio 9.5 debut, and I have been animating with it. But I find it very hard to keep track of the layers because the shades I put there, are pure black. It renders in preview mode, but I was wondering is there a way to change this.

Way off at the bottom right corner of the project window (the main work space) you will find the Display Quality button. It might be buried under other windows.

Open that up and turn on shape effects. That should do it.
