Thanks for this Toontoonz, today I downloaded Maya 7 Personal Learning Edition, to see what's this all about,
I am one of those who has a wish someday to put hands on Maya unlimited... for now something free is OK.
If you know any more downloadable introductory tutorials I would appriciate it.
I found http://www.simplymaya.com/ but tutorials there are mostly for those, who more or less, know Maya.

Maya is an incredible product: Makes incredible animation and takes an incredibly long time to figure it out! :D

And then once you start trying to create models you realize you just have to have this cool software ZBrush:

People make amazing 3D models with it.

Hmmm... Is the modeling and animation process in Maya as difficult as it is in MAX? :|

I have never used Max so I don“t know.
You can download the Maya learning version for free and try it out to compare the two.
It seems to me that 3D animation is difficult to master whichever the program.
