Follow Path tool on bitmap

Does the 'Follow Path' tool not work on bitmaps? I'm trying to use it to create a curve deformer and I can get it to work on a vector layer. It's not working when I try to do it with a bitmap tho.

No, Follow Path doesn't bend bitmaps.
Anyway, there is an old trick you can use bones to simulate a path. Check it here:

Oh, I'm sorry about that. I have been thinking about, but can't get a better solution than normal bones and a lot of trial and error for strength.
