newbie color fill question

I just downloaded demo. Went through basic tuts. Only problem I'm having is I can't get the colors I want to fill. It keeps filling the last color I used and not the new color.

For example if I color the hill a gradient green/brown the clouds I've tried to color white come out green/brown in the rendering. I can choose new colors but the old color is applied.
Any help would be appreciated.

When you are still learning, make certain the auto-fill option at the top of the workspace is un-ticked when you are creating new shapes.

Then, after you have selected your curves to fill and you see the red checkerboard, but before you hit Spacebar, check that your colours (and effects such as gradients) are correctly set.

The hit Spacebar to confirm.

here's a small visual walkthrough.

Okay...

First i have to inform you: Whatever colour a shape might have in editing mode, if the gradient effect is applied to it, it will be rendered in the colours you set in the gradient effect of that shape.

To your problem.

Make sure you have the "Select Shape" tool selected.
Select your clouds shape and there should be a kind of checkerboard on that shape now.
Click on your fill effect ("Gradient" in your case) and open the dropdown menu.
Select "<plain>". You just have removed the gradient effect from that shape.
Now your clouds should have the colour they have in editing view.
Hit Ctrl+R to get a still image of your project, so you can check if the colours are correct.

(I think your problem is that you have applied the green/brown gradient effect to the clouds as well)

If this doesnt work, please upload the file and i will take a look at it.

Myles, that was a cool tutorial...

Honestly, that's the kind of thing I wished were included with Moho when I first started... those little mini-movies helped me learn my first 3d program a lot faster.

Although, once I did the tutorials for Moho, it all came together pretty fast.
