Timeline Channels

Beginner question... But is it possible to display channels on the timeline which don't yet have keyframes? I know this used to be possible. I find myself often wanting to insert a keyframe for bone rotation or translation before I make a change. For example, a characters neck might not need to rotate until frame 80-90. If I make the rotation keyframe on frame 90, there'll be a slow rotation from frame 1 to 90. Normally, I'd add a keyframe at frame 80, then go to frame 90 and do the rotation.

Thanks,

Just click with the rotation tool selected into the project window, this creates a key.

In version 11, you must go to View - Timeline Channels
+ is always visible
- is never visible
○ is Auto (channel will be visible if there's at least one keyframe after frame zero)

You're right, I should've said "click into window without moving" to create a key of the current state of the timeline. Tip: don't do this with a pen, but with the mouse.

Thanks Slowtiger, great tip to click anywhere in the window to make a keyframe.

And thanks Victor, that was exactly the answer I was after.
