Surface Pro 3 / Debut 11 / crashes on touch and pen use

Installed Debut 11 on an up to date Surface Pro 3 running latest update of Windows 10. All is well and good with the keyboard attached and using the track pad as a mouse (ie just like on a normal machine). The app works fine. However, as soon as I touch the screen or tap the pen against the screen, Debut immediately crashes every time.
Support sent me back something about needing to contact Microsoft and Wacom, and that some people have managed work arounds, without alluding to what these might be.
Wacom aren't involved in the Surface Pro these days, it's ntrig, which is now owned by MS. All I can find online is a reference to an ntrig library called Wintab, but simply installing this doesn't make any difference.
Any other Surface Pro 3/4 users got Debut working with the pen?
