As the title says I'm thinking of purchasing this software but have a few questions. I've been watching videos and reading posts for a couple of weeks now. A few of my questions are as follows:

1. Can you draw in another program (like Corel draw) and import those images to use in AS? The videos I have seen look like they use AS to draw the character for animation and rigging - just wanted to verify I can do this.

2. Digital or Box edition? I like the idea of the box edition because I would have a physical disk if I need to reinstall for what ever reason. If I were to purchase the digital edition is there a way to back it up, or can I just burn the .exe onto a dvd?

3. If I use rigging is it possible to make the character turn and not appear flat? How is that accomplished?

Those are my main questions for now. Thank you in advance for any help. This program looks amazing and I think I would how great fun with it. I'm looking forward to more information and hope it will lead to a purchase.

1. Yes. You can import bitmaps and animate their position, size, and rotation, as well as rig them with bones, which allows to warp them. The result will more or less look like cutout animation.

3. AS is a 2D program. If you want different views, you have to create them. It's possible to interpolate between a front and a side view (vectors, not bitmaps), but takes some experience to make this look convincing.

How about digital download vs Physical Box? Any of you have a preference?

You download the installer. Just keep it on your drive and your backup drive, and the serial number as well, and you're safe.

I am now the proud owner of AS Pro

It's pretty daunting when you first launch it that's for sure. I also just purchased CorelDraw and plan to use the vector art for my animation in Anime Studio. I'm looking forward to some fun times and hope I can make something people will love to watch.
