Anime Studio New Document File Format Info

Hi everyone,
As some of you already know, with Anime Studio 11.0, the product team released a brand new document file format. The older .anme format was replaced with a new JSON-based format, the new .anime.
This new format has many advantages, included lighter size, more flexible hierarchy and easier compatibility. For instance, now it's easier to add and in some cases delete data values without breaking the file format and save it with retro-compatibility (which is specially important when sharing files in the forum).

For more information, we created a detailed .PDF file, so you can learn how to understand and handle this new document file format.
You can download it here:

Best regards,
The Anime Studio Team

PS: This is information for scriptwriters and people who like to play with this kind stuff. If you don't understand this thread or the document, don't worry, that won't affect your animation at all :) -Víctor

As a BTW -- are there any plans to update the browser-based scripting docs from moho5 - IOW provide more readable info than just the .pkg files in "extra files"?? Please!!!! :) pretty please :D

Will files with the old .anme format load (or import) in ASP11?

Yes, .anme files are loaded by version 11.
If you save that files, they will be updated to .anime.
