Server/Domain Question

I'm having a problem where my domain
www.stormvisions.com does not work but stormvisions.com does. My ISP has not gotten back to resolve this yet and I figured I'd ask. Here is what the domain panel shows
A Record stormvisions.com Yahoo! IP Address -- | --
CNAME Record *.stormvisions.com Yahoo! Hostname -- | --
CNAME Record ftp.stormvisions.com Yahoo! Hostname -- | --
CNAME Record mail.stormvisions.com Yahoo! Hostname -- | --
I tireid adding another A Name using
www.stormvisions.com and my IP address and no good. I then tried
CNAME Record
www.stormvisions.com stormvisions.com
and nothing -any clues what this could be?

Someone can kick me if I'm wrong, but it was always my impression that the "www" was really pretty much like a subdomain, the same way you could have "bupaje.stormvisions.com". Just a convenient designation when the web was a new thing to point you to the proper content type. From one other site I helped someone with, you could assign a number of subdomains to 'point' to you base address, but the "www" wasn't set as the default, you had to specify it as a subdomain that would point (redirect?) to your actual root address (in this case "stormvisions.com").
It seems most service providers do things in very different ways, but maybe that'll help you figure it out.

I actually tried forwarding, creating subdomain www, voodoo and everything else I could could think of but I just tripped on the answer about 15 minutes ago. Yahoo! added an option to make your WhoIS registration private a couple of weeks ago. On a hunch -or on a 'I've tried everything else so what the heck' - I disabled it and it works. I now was able to turn it back on so when I updated the site some record or other was not allowed to be modified by the system.
Thanks. It may be that your response helped prod my memory.

Yes, If you have CPanel, Theres an option in there to add www as a domain url option.
But i checked your site and typed www. in front of it, And it took me to your site, Maybe your hosting provider fixed it for you?
