Hello friends,

Have any of you encountered this? My other files open just fine, but it seems one file in particular won't ever open - the "Opening" loading bar appears and it just hangs there. I waited for half an hour before giving up and force-quitting Moho 12.2.

The strange thing is this file was opening fine yesterday, but after saving my work and shutting down for the night, today it's impossible.

A previous version of the project (just one character rig, no animation) opens immediately. The only difference with the new file is I removed/added some smart bone animations and told some of my reference layers to break and become independent (these were not referencing other files, just other layers within this same project)

Just a thought but have you tried opening the scene in an earlier version of Moho or ASP? If that works, try saving a new copy of the file and then open that in Moho 12.2. Maybe that will 'fix' something in the scene that 12.2 is having trouble with.

Or try importing elements from that scene into a clean scene. That should still preserve your animations, assuming the data isn't corrupted.

Thank you, Greenlaw. I did just try importing the file, but it just loads forever again.

I'll try loading it onto 12.1, which I have on a laptop.

*EDIT* No luck with 12.1, it hangs on the "Opening" file phase just like in 12.2.

I really wish I knew what happened to cause this - is the file corrupt? I'm hesitant to make the same modifications to my older file if this is just going to happen again. I already lost a day's work at this.

Were you using any layerscripts?

Synthsin75 - Hello! I was not using any layer scripts at all.

I'm wondering (maybe Wes can answer this,) but does Moho save a temp copy of the file anywhere that can be recovered from? If so, maybe there's an earlier version there? Probably a long shot but just putting it out there. (I've done that with some other animation programs.)

At work we use the Previous Versions feature in Windows which has saved my butt numerous times. I really should enable that at home too. I know that's not helping, just thinking out loud now.

Yes, there's an Autosave folder here on Windows: C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Roaming\Smith Micro\Moho Pro\12

I’m currently having the same issue and don’t know what to do. One of my Moho files is refusing to open.
