Pre-planning drawings in Moho

I have been a huge fan of Anime Studio / Moho for years ...but one of my biggest peeves is the lack of ability to pre plan a scene. Does 12 have better ways to draw out a quick sketch? Additions like the Frame by Frame layer are helpful, but I still need to go to Photoshop/ Flash if I want to draw a character's rough action out. Its completely awkward in A.S./Moho. Has this process been refined?

Bezier curves have made drawing with the pencil tool better, but it's still pretty bad. When I sketch, I draw very rough ideas and try to establish volume and flow, then I'll start drawing details. The Pencil tool was definitely not designed with this workflow in mind.
In my opinion, Moho needs to either fix the blob brush or add raster layers to make sketching more of a viable option.
