weird white outlines in render

this is a strange one... hasn't happened anywhere else. But in this one character, I am seeing an odd white outline appearing around certain parts, only after rendering.

Rest assured I have checked and double-checked the layers in question, and there is no effect selected anywhere that should result in this, as far as I know.

As a test, I tried scaling the object, and found that the effect was more pronounced when scaled down, and less when scaled up.

As another test, I turned off scale compensation in all layers, and the whiteness persisted, though some of it was drowned out by the now-thick outlines which also rendered the object unusable.

LM, any idea what could be causing this? I've attached an image that shows the effect - the fairy in the middle is at 100% scale.

I'm not LM, but LM has answered a similar question here:

I think you are experiencing partial transparency. Have you tried the solution LM suggested (exporting your movie as PNG and pick the frame you need)?

Alternatively, you are possibly seeing the multi-layered fill problem discussed in this thread: http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2952

I suspect this might be a result of creating or editing shapes with auto-fill turned on.

thanks for the quick tips, guys -

myles - that was it. the thread you linked to was the exact same problem. further investigation revealed multiple white fills hiding inside those shapes.

hooray for moho forum feedback during crunch time!
