i would like to know how to like as well as manipulating bones i would like to know how to get them, to move in a fowrd direction as it wont let me off- set it once ive gone onto the 2nd frame i would really appriciate any help

The Offset Bone tool is only used for setting up a character as in Tutorial 3.4.

From your description, you probably need to use the Translate Bone tool - often used for moving a parent bone and all child bones.

In some circumstances, using layer translation is also worth considering.
