CharWizard in v8 pro vs v9 StudioPro

I haven't use AS in years, still have v9Studio Pro. Looking at the tutorials video for the character wizard in v8 there all these presets for different men and women but in my v9. the selection includes generic bald guy and a lot of kids. Options/controls different too. Can any of you older pros 
tell me why the difference? Just seems more limiting.
