Saving on frame 0 is much faster than on later frames

I noticed this now in several scenes I created which were very long. Saving the same scene when the playback "head" is on frame 1 or zero takes a second or less, while saving the same file when the playback head is e.g. on frame 1500 takes forever.

Interesting. Did you noticed any other problem caused by saving on frame 1500, like bigger file size, or anything?

No the saved file is exactly the same, as is the content. So it looks like a bug to me.
