Strange Left_Click selecting problem

I am having a problem with left-click selecting in the first few frames of the Moho timeline. If I zoom in on the timeline the problem is still there but over fewer frames. I have even bought a new mouse as that was my prime suspect. I have no other problems selecting in this screen area in other programs. I can select in this portion of the timeline if I undock it, and it works after I re-dock it. However, on restarting Moho the problem re-occurs.

Any simple solutions anyone?

Years ago, a co-worker had trouble selecting the left-most side of the timeline on her Cintiq. We solved this by making sure Windows Scaling was set to 100% and adjusting the display resolution so that it was usable at this scale. I imagine setting the scale to higher increments of 100 should work too; the problem comes from using one of the in-between settings like 125% or 150%.

You might want to give that a try. In my experience, setting Windows Scaling to 100% solves some other UI issues too. LM is aware of this so hopefully we'll see some improvement in the future.

Have got both screens set at 100%, and I daren't change anything from that 'cos it causes the colour problem which occurs with screen scaling. Waa! Thanks anyway.

Hmm. Does it do that when Moho is on either screen or just the one? How about when Moho's window is unmaximized and maybe resized a little smaller? How about when the Timeline is undocked?

Not sure what any of this would tell you, it's just a couple of things I would try. I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

I think i have seen similar occasionally - and would describe it as a GUI buglet.

In such circumstances I believe the Tools panel is somehow slightly obscuring the timeline, even though it may not look like it.

To address this - decrease/increase the height of the Timeline panel, and the issue should correct itself.

Brilliantly solved! :)

@Greenlaw. Doesn't do it on main screen, only on drawing tablet. Doesn't do it when timeline undocked. I think @SimplSam has spotted that the problem lies with the tool panel, and resizing the timeline is the quick fix for the problem. TBH, I'm just happy the problem isn't me going bonkers and is actually real! :)

Thank you both @Greenlaw and @Simplsam

I have a question: do you keep the Tools window docked? If so, that might explain why I haven't seen it on my tablet; I prefer to keep the Tools windows undocked because 1.) it typically takes up more space than it needs when docked, and 2.) I like to move the Tools window closer to the region of the screen where I'm working.

The second point isn't as big a deal when using a stylus but when you're using a mouse, keeping the Tools window docked means a lot of extra traveling distance.

Similarly, I keep the Styles and Action windows undocked: they take up too much space from the Layers window, which I find can use all the vertical height it can get. Since I don't actually need the Styles and Action windows most of the time when I'm animating, I keep these windows closed until I do need them. For me, this keeps Moho's UI cleaner and easier to work in.

TBH, I tend to keep everything docked, and open. The problem I find with undocking and closing is that when I re-open they often appear on the wrong screen, but that's Win 11 for you. However, I reckon you've inadvertently given food for thought for something to be added to the wishlist - Workspaces, like in Clip Studio Paint, where the user can create several of their own and save them, as well as having predefined ones.
