Is the LM forum search broken?

I've tried on many occasions to search for topics that have come up in the past using search and it only shows one page of results. When I try to create a search by author nothing comes up. I remember having better success in the past.

Anyone know if search is broken or if I'm using it wrong and have a solution? I searched phpbb documentation and developer forum the page 1 only showing search was a bug back in 2022's update.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure, but searching with google's site:lostmarble.com has always given better results for me, and I think this is not something trivial as almost everyone uses lostmarble's rearch feature and that limits the usefulness of this forum, which is the best source of information for begginers and everyone.

The LM Forum Search has been broken for a long time. I first reported this back in January but I'm sure it's been broken for a while before that. It's like it displays only a sub-set of results or secondary results, and never the main or most likely results. Anyway, LM is aware.

For the time being, it's better to use Google to search this forum.

Tip: Bookmark or otherwise catalog the threads/posts you find most useful. I've been doing this for years, and it always comes in handy...now more than ever.

I assume a forum software update at one point lost the forum indexing that the search would use.

Many sites nowadays just embed this kind of google search into their own site: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Alostmarble.com
That would likely be the easiest solution.

You could even implement searching by poster, date, etc.: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A ... ynthsin75"
