Applying Effects or brushes to multiple layers

I have a character, all parts separated in layers and rigged. Since the style is very linear, sort of hand-drawn like, I'd like to add an effect (wet ink, or rough ink), or maybe a brush. As far as I can tell I can only do this by selecting the shapes (Q) on each layer and applying the effect layer by layer. Is there a way to do this on multiple layers, in one go? It would be a great time saver... especially when trying different effects/brushes.

That's something which should best be decided in the design stage, before you build the character in Moho.
Next best thing: define a style for the outline and use it on all shapes the character consists of when you build it. This way you later can change the appearance of the outline, try different brushes etc.
After the fact, when everything is built and rigged, there is indeed no other way than to go into each shape and change it manually.

Victor just made a video about that. It's still a manual method layer by layer but it has some nice recomendations to make it faster. The explanation starts right there at the minute 8:

True, if I decide Styles before hand, I can change them later – at least within the range of styles I've created. The project I am working on at the moment entails large projections, which means a lot of what I see on a small screen may look very different when I'm testing the projected animations. On a very large theatre-large projection, stroke width and stroke quality need a lot of tweaking. From to time I may need to rethink (or may be asked to make changes in a pretty short time). In this sort of situation, not being able to just shape-select and restyle a whole bunch of layers on the fly can be somewhat limiting (but I realise not all workflows can be foreseen by a program's architecture).
