I've always liked the opening sequence of the Nausicaä anime.
When I bought the manga I thought that the first pages were even more beautiful, so beautiful that I wanted to animate them.
Here is my humble tribute to Hayao Miyazaki, the man who was partly responsible for the course my life took.
I just wanted to share it with you.

Thanks for watching.

Layered with Krita
Animated with Moho

This is really amazing work! I really love/appreciate the subtlety of a lot of the animation, the sound design, and the camera/page movement.

That's lovely work!

I love the movie too, but, while I have the manga series here, I have never read it. Your animation makes me want to crack it open today. :D

Wow! I like how you made the flyer look 3D. Very effective.

This is so well done. I wish book trailers were more like this. Also this could be the beginning of any comic-to-animation feature, slowly adding colour and abandoning the panel frames.

(We did that in "Werner - Beinhart" at one place: Brösel (the comic's author in the life action part was scribbling something, that was a BG layout (lines only), which then became colored and animated.)

I still don't know why but I'm deeply fascinated by motion comics and making animated book trailers is a very captivating idea 👍.

In that case I recommend you contact some comic book/graphic novel publishers (like Fantagraphics - the established, more high-brow ones) and showcase this to them.
