How to mirrow 3/4 Mouth Ste??

CORRECTION: "How to Mirror a 3/4 Mouth Set"- was what the Title was supposed to read :)

I have a set of 3/4 specific Mouths that I'd like to flip so they work on the opposite side of the head. To work on both the Right Side and the Left Side. They are asymmetric.

I'd prefer to have only one set of mouths- and not a second set that is duplicated and mirrored. Why? Cleaner less stuff to edit.

What I've tried so far:
In a Smart Action, I tried to 'scale' the mouths to flip them too- but that didn't work as they stayed flipped.

So I am looking for ideas on how to use a single set of mouths- but essentially mirror them via smart action so they work on both sides of the head. In the 3/4 View.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. If you need more information or images too, just let me know.

Thx!!

Tons of animation just flips the asymmetry. Most people don't notice unless they're looking for it.

Thanks synthsin75!

I just solved my own problem:
In the Smart Action, I was flipping the mouths on Frame 0...not realizing this keeps the mouth set flipped even when you are outside of the Smart Action.

SOLUTION: Flip Mouths on Frame 1- not 0.
The flipped mouths aren't correct re: symmetry but as you said, its not a big deal and will work just fine ;)

Thanks synthsin75

For me, it depends on whether the mouth animation is popping or morphing.

If popping, then flipping the group or art layer is fine.

If morphing (i.e., Interpolate Sublayers mode,) I use DKW Root's Swap Points script. You can find it as part of the collection here: DKWROOT Scripts (Lots of Improvements) . Scroll to the end of the topic and look for the link I'm hosting because the original link is broken. I have an example of how to use it there, too.

This script doesn't flip the drawing; rather, it moves the points to create a mirrored version of the drawing. This means the mouth shapes can smoothly transition from 3/4 to 3/4 views (and between visemes, too!) For it to work predictably, you must have the same number of points on both sides of the drawing. The script usually works well but sometimes produces a weird result with bezier points. But, even when it does something weird, the result is quicker to work with than doing it all manually.
