how to get no layer selected in viewport?

i am trying to figure out how to get a clean viewport without seeing any tools like transform tool or bones or curves, just a clean picture like in render preview.
I tried everthing form "select none", escape button, clicking in empty space or uncheck the viewport buttons like "show curves" and others.
Even clicking in an empty space of the layer window does not unselect. Some layer always stays selected.
Is it possible? Thank you!

does Window / Toggle Secondary Windows (default shortcut alt-1) achieve what you want?

unfortunately not. It maximises the viewport size but transform-widgets or bones or origins are still visible.
i want to get rid of them to get a clean view on my artwork
in Maya, TBH, Animate its possible and deselect means deselect. Surprisingly, Moho seems to lack this function

What i do is either use the hide curves button next to the display settings and or (activate the select points tool(when i have a vector layer selected) (use select bone tool when a bone layer selected (use the orgin tool when a image layer selected (but don't click anywhere with it at the time) )

Have you tried to add an empty vector layer to your scene and select it!

@doodledaze thanks, thats what im doing now (but i hoped for a one button solution like in other apps)
@GCharb thanks, an acceptable solution, make an empty layer on top, call it "preview" and move that origin cross out of view

Yeah, me too, that's what I do to select 'nothing': I create an Empty layer and select it. When I'm working in Moho, I don't normally care about this, but after I started recording the tutorial series, there have been shots where I didn't want a layer selected yet because selecting a layer was part of the instructions. I believe I even named the layer 'Empty' to make it clear to the viewer that it wasn't part of the activity. (Kinda like selecting an unparented null in a 3D program.)
If the goal is to temporarily not see any part of the Working Area's UI, click the Show Curves button at the bottom. This hides bones, the origin, curves and points, and other UI bits. It doesn't matter if a layer is selected or not. I use this option when I need to check the drawing or animation without the UI, but I don't want to render it, and sometimes, during a tutorial to feature a drawing or animation in the Moho program uncluttered by bones.
Hope this helps.

Ctrl+Shift+C will hide curves. As long as you don't have a layer tool selected, this hides everything.

Thanks Greenlaw and synthsin75, my workflow from now on is hide the curves while avoiding to have a layer tool active

Ctrl+Shift+C will hide curves...
Cool! I was unaware there was a shortcut for this. Very handy! Thanks for the tip, Wes!

The eyedropper tool's shortcut is L and it would provide a "clean view".

Good tip. I haven't had a shortcut for the eyedropper in years.

That's interesting and a very good alternative method...I'll start using this! Thanks for the tip, Maestral.

Never noticed that, as the picker tool is the one tool that I pretty much had no use for. But, now I do !

You're most welcome guys, glad to hear you find it helpful.
I'm pretty sure I discovered it by chance but as time flies by, I started believing that Moho developers are leaving such easter eggs for us to discover, before adding the next package of improvements. As in: The next level shall be available only upon completion of the previous one
