This happens regardless of what file I'm using.
When I try to select a layer using the shortcut - opt right click, the program crashes.
It's way too often and doesn't matter if it's a new file or an old one.
No problem selecting a layer directly from the layer window. Just when using the short cut.
I'm using Moho Pro 14.4 on a Mac Mini M1. Happened with previous OS and now with the latest OS Tahoe.

Re: Crashes when selecting layer with opt R-Click
I'm not on a Mac, but wondering, does it do this in every project?
Try starting a new project, and make several layers, each with a shape you can select. If it doesn't crash, I suspect something about the project file that does crash.
The first thing I would check is negative keyframes using Syntsin75's Find and Delete Negative Keyfames tool.
Then check for distant positive frames. To do this, go past the last keyframe in your project and choose the menu command Animation>Clear Animation>From Document After Current Frame. This is similar to the negative keyframe issue, except the keyframes can be many thousands of frames in the future. This may be a new bug because I ran into for the first time only a few weeks ago. I haven't seen it again since, though.
Save a copy of the project.
Now try selecting a layer from the Workspace. If it still crashes, then I suspect the layer or the contents of the layer you're selecting.
If the layer is a movie or audio file, try deleting it, and save another copy of your project. Quit Moho, relaunch, and open the file. Are you able to select the remaining layers without crashing? If so, you may have a corrupted media file.
On rare occasions, a layer itself may become corrupted within Moho, and simply recreating the layer can fix it. If it's a vector layer, make a new vector layer, then copy/paste the contents to the new layer, and delete the old one. Another example: I recently had a Switch Layer that got corrupted and stopped working. To fix it, I created a new Switch Layer and moved the contents to that group. Problem solved.
I hope one of these tips helps. If not, I hope a Mac Moho user will pop in to offer assistance. Good luck!

Re: Crashes when selecting layer with opt R-Click
Any chance you're using the "Image Texture" Shape effect? I've recently had files that constantly crashed with alt r-click and I suspect those effects to be the issue. But am not 100% sure and can't replicate it easily. It crashed on both Windows and Mac on alt+Rclick immediately.NealF2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 9:23 am This happens regardless of what file I'm using.

I did use a texture effect in one of the files, but this has happened in files without it.
Seems to be very random.

There is certainly a known issue with Layer Select/Pick vs projects with Tiled Image textures.
Beyond that it normally works OK (for me on PC)

Re: Crashes when selecting layer with opt R-Click
I ran into this crash recently, and I think it was with the Image Texture effect. In this case, I decided I didn't really need Image Texture for what I was working on, and instead I recreated the item using a vector brush. I haven't seen the crash since. In other cases, I imported the image I wanted as an Image Layer and applied a mask.Lukas wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 5:55 am Any chance you're using the "Image Texture" Shape effect? I hope this crash gets fixed, though, because I use Alt + R-Click to select layers all the time, and Image Texture has been super useful for me in the past.
