adding a bone constrain influences IK stretching?

in an existing rig i added a angle constrain on one leg of the character, and i noticed this made the IK stretch in that leg (150%) much bigger.
So that when i move the character up, the leg with the constraint, stretches out much much further. After unchecking the constraint the issue is gone and both legs have the same stretch again.
