I am not satisfied with the default selection of brushes.
How do i modify the selection of brushes the panel offers?

it would be nice if we could create a brush panel with dedicated brushes for a specific project or make folders to group brushes per type or use...

Making your own brushes is fun! I've created some specialized ones to get around Moho's standard pen limitations.

You can add new brushes to your custom content folder. They're basically grayscale PNG files. Technically, they don't even need an alpha channel, but from what I recall, they look a little better with one. (Note: It's been a while, so I should check this bit about the alpha channel to be sure I know what I'm talking about.)

Brushes can be a single image or a set of images in a numbered sequence for added variety.

To see how brushes are formatted, copy the Brushes folder (don't remove it) from your program folder (Resources\Support\Common\Brushes). Don't place your custom or modified brushes in your program folder; custom brushes need to go in the Brushes folder in your Custom Content Folder.

I almost forgot: You should also save a Brush Settings file for your brush. You can do this from the Brush Settings window. Study the Brushes folder to see how the PNG and settings files are structured, and follow the same structure in your custom content.

It's been a while since I've done this myself. Maybe I need to, uh, brush up on this subject. :D

Hi Greenlaw,
thanks.
Yes i have already created some custom brushes even some animated ones.
I can also import some of my TVPaint brushes.
So my question was not quite clear.
I meant asking about the brushpanel itself. As it shows a big collection of brushes of which only a few are useful to me.
So i would very much like to arrange a custom collection of brushes in the panel. Ideal would be the possibility to have different brushpanels for specific different projects.
Now i always get the same large badge of mainly superfluous brushes. And i can add my own but not remove defaults.

On Mac I can open Moho with "show packet content" and get down to a folder with the brushes, which I can delete one by one. (Of course backup this before you do this.)

Ah! I see what you mean, and I absolutely agree! I wish Moho offered better management of Brushes. I feel this way about multiple areas of Moho, including Styles, Actions, Bones, etc. Hopefully, we'll start seeing new windows/panels for this in the future.

Here's an idea: I haven't tried this, but I'm wondering if all of the stock Brushes could be moved from the Program folder to the Custom Content Folder, and then you can edit the entire Brushes content to your taste. Normally, I don't recommend editing files in the program folder, but unless Moho requires them to be there, this could be an exception.

I wouldn't completely delete the brushes; just drop them in another folder so they can be recovered later if necessary.
