switch folder?

hi im a new user in the moho software. i like to know how and what the switch folder can do and what the different between the odinary folder(group)? can someone help me...please... tq

In a group layer, you can see all of its contents together in the scene. The group is useful if you want to make the same thing with its contents (ie. move them together, masking etc.)
The switch layer is different, you can switch between its contents and you can see only one of them at a time. On the keyframes you can set which sub-layer you want to see. The switch layer is a possibility to make the traditional way of animation, when the motion phases are separated drawings. But the switch layer can do more: morphing between the phases, animated phases etc.

I'll just add one quick example .... imagine having a hand in 3 positions, open, closed, pointing, using the switch layer you can quickly 'toggle' different positions during the animation. There are many cool examples of things done with switch layers in these forums.

Like Bupaje said you can use switch layers for hand postitions. That's my main reason for using them although I use them partially for the mouths and eyelids.
So yeah, hand positions, mouth positions, butt positions, anything that you need to be switched (hence the name

) on and off.
