MOHO DEMO PROBLEMS

Hi everyone. :)

I just discovered Moho last night. I've been playing around with it for a day now and looked through the tutorials and I see how easily it works my question is though, I read the page that says demo restrictions all it said was that it would have a watermark and flash files would play in greyscale however, my demo copy will not allow me to use the bone tools so I am limited with my experiments (the only reason I know how easily it works is by playing around with the tutorial demonstrations only there the bone tools are accessable.) Has anyone ever had this problem before or does anyone know what may be causing this problem? I would really appreciate the help.

You must create first a Bone Layer type in the Layers Window and add some bone to it to can work with them and so with the specific bone tools.

Thank you for the quick reply! :D

Ok... now I see it... I didn't know how to specify the type of layer it needs to be now that I was able to select it works. Thanks so much for the help! :D

oh, no, no. ramón is a bad influence.
when you have something please show us part of your work, and not be just secretly experimenting.
we don't want another guy as ramón (digo, tan sabio en Moho, y tan re cabrón para compartir! ) :x :P

I'll try to post what I can of my work, thanks everyone for your support. :) I've been able to add the bones to my character but I've been faced with another problem, when I go to animate my character, only the bones will be reposed however the character itself will stay staitionary. So When I view my animation the only part animated is the bone but the characters limbs do not move along with it. Is there some sort of layering and/or attachment thing that needs to be done to have the bone move the actual character itself ( to have the character move it's arm, it's leg, or it's head etc.) ? Thank you for your time and your help.

You need to nind the layers to the bones - check out the Tutorial 3.1 and the rest of that chapter. Hopefully, that should do the trick.

I tried to activate the bind layer, but the bind layer icon does not opperate. Could you please explain the process of binding the skin to the bone. The tutorials were helpful however I am still a little ensure. Thank you so much for the help I really appreciate it.

Go through the tutorials - that's why they are there! The problems you've had so far are all covered! Then ask some questions if you need further help...

I have the same exact problem with the demo.

I was following the tutorial step by step and when it came to binding the bones, the buttons for it are greyed out and don't let me bind them.

What is going on?

Are you binding points to bones or layers to bones?

Two different things.

You need to have a vector layer selected to bind it to a bone.

You need to have a bone selected in a vector layer to bind points to it.
If the tool is grayed out... then that indicates to me the wrong layer type is selected.

It should be in the tutorials... I honestly can't remember how I learned it myself... I assume it was from the tutorials...

... it might have been leaving a copy of the application on a CD under my pillow at night... you can try that if you want... can't guarrantee the results.

I followed the tutorial to the letter...

Both of the binding buttons are greyed out and yet all of the other bone tools are fine. Strangely, the bones menu is greyed out as well.

Sorry...

You missed a step somewhere... I just checked the tutorial files and if you DID follow it properly it should work as described.

If you have bones on a bone layer... and a vector layer AS A CHILD OF THE BONE LAYER and the vector layer IS SELECTED...

Then the bind layer bind points tool is available.

If you have the bone layer selected and there is no parent layer... both binding tools are grayed out.

p.s. How can the bone tools be fine but the bone menu is grayed out?

Yeah, I just figured out that it needed to be parented.

However, the 3.1 tutorial DOES NOT mention parenting/childing of the layers.

Well, now that I have this working. I'm looking forward to exploring this software even further and maybe even purchase it. :D

Thanks.
