Free Sound Project

Post by bupaje »

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but if not here is a great resource. Found some excellent high quality sounds in some of these packs.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

AFAIR the sounds are licensed under Creative Commons and you cannot use these in commercials (advertizements). It's fine for other projects, either commercial or non-commercial, as long as you give attribution to the sound creator.

That is an odd requirement. I read it sounds like you can use it in advertisements if you meet the derivative works requirement? But itherwise k for commercial and non-commercial.
Prohibition on advertising. All advertising and promotional uses are excluded from the above rights, except for advertisement and promotion of the Derivative Work(s) that You are creating from the Work and Yourself as the author thereof.
The quality of a lot of them seems very good. I downloaded some sax and other instruments and plan on squeezing in some time to play with Acid Music Studio. I had a short intro class on Adobe Premiere and we did a car commercial with some clips and I was able to put together a nice track with some of the loops from this site and also from around the net. (I may be boring you with my MMM-You-Sick one of these days). :)

No, it means you can promote your own work, but you may not use the sound for promoting tooth paste, cigarettes, IOW work for advertisement agencies (which is the bread and butter for most professional animators).
