Pseudo 3D Eye test

Please watch this pseudo 3D eye setup to post your opinion.
I concentrated into eyeball more than eyelids.
Pupil + Iris +eyeball are made with three layers at different z position and masked with eyeball, so turning X and Y the group layer seems to be 3D.

Nive work Genete. I love the flexibility at the top of the eyelid.
I noticed a slight shade in the white of the eye How did you shade it?

As explained in the post, eyeball (white) is a separated shape in a separate layer. It is a circle with a grey halo on the filling. The eyelid flexibility idea was taken from reality!. I watched my son's eye looking upwards and taked care of the details. :wink:

In fact it is inspired in two things:

It is very interesting. heyvern gave some tips about holes in the face for create eyes. (Really it is very difficult to understand heyvern posts! Also as well as some pics in the topic have broken links I could not understand all comments. It is a pitty :( ) Anyway I caugh the idea.
The other inspiration was this fantastic post from Barry Baker:

A lovely face 3D compositing made with layer orientation and masking... Wooow! (VERY NICE to see. Don't loose the oportunity to watch the video. :shock: :shock: )

So I was thinking to combine those ideas and this is the result.

Last comment: there is a hidden trick that was not said. As well as it is composed by three layers at three z positions, camera settings are very important. If I reset camera (zoom and x,y,z values) settings to the default from factory, it seems that eyes are looking for different directions. It is due to perspective effect of the camera (so close to the subject and very zoomed out). So to solve this issue, I had to move the camera to a big z (50 more or less) and then zoom in to a proper amplification. So with this, conic perspective issue dissapear (more or less ...).

I agree, good observation on your part, Genete, and good use of the available material on this forum.

People should use the Search function on this forum more often, so others can watch what creative solutions to animation problems they have found, using this resource.
