I have following problem: (see the picture)

How do i make that orange bar going front of first blue bar, but going under the next one. Like this:

(I wasn't able to do it, i just modified the picture :P)

Thanks!

EDIT: There are two layers. Blue thingy is layer 1 and orange bar layer 2. And as you can see, blue is under orange layer.

There are a few different ways this could be done. This may be the easiest one to make a start with:

1. Divide up blue shape with hole into two shapes, like this: [ ]
2. Put each shape on a different layer (first lowest)
3. Create a new layer between these two layers
4. Draw orange bar on this layer --

Now you can animate that bar going through the opening

Hope this helps

As janocli wrote, you can only do this with 3 layers. An partial orange bar on top, a blue open rectangle below that, and a partial orange bar on the bottom.

See my zipped Moho file for comparison: blue_and_orange_bar.moho.zip

Thanks. I thought about that. It works but it's kind of difficult to get it done with more complex shapes.

You could use masking, but it's a little tricky for newcomers to get their minds round it (I still have problems!), so I suggested something simpler. How would you do it?

I tried masking too but wasn't able to get it work correctly. I can do simple masks but as i said, i didn't manage to get it work like it should.

Splitting the shape in two parts worked best at this moment, but if someone has ideas to try, go on and tell them :)

Although I have done it differently, I think it is better to split the object that isn't moving (I suppose the frame).

Anyway, with some fancy masking, you can create this impossible animation:

Based on this file: strange.moho.zip

Anime Studio (and Moho) is a very powerful program, which allows you to create very sophisticated animations, with relative ease, provided you know what you want and how to do it.
