There is a growing market for mobile content and AS is an ideal program for creating short animations.

The standard for mobiles (according to my mobile content suppliers) is a frame size of w176 * h144, at 12fps. The video format is 3gp.

Having this as preset would be handy. As such, having 3gp as a dupported output will find a use for a lot of users, either to put on their own mobiles or for distrubution.

This request comes after some tests I've been doing for the studio - I put my first converted short animation onto my mobile yesterday and was very surprised at how good it looked. In fact, I was impressed enough to start scripting/boarding an adult short specifically for mobile use.

3G output i spart of Quicktime. Just select Quicktime as the means to output your animation and choose "export as 3G" in the Quicktime menu. Quicktime will automatically give the proper defaults for 3G content and, if I remember correctly, won't alloiw you to select options which will not work. it will export the movie with the .3gp extension.

The first few episodes of Anigen have a 3gp version. I've never een it on a phone though.

thanx for this, I'll go play with itsome more - not sure if I have to have seperate codec downloaded for PC or if the 3gp is automatic.

Its a handy facility if its intergrated.

Is this a Mac thing? Just tried this on my PC, and "export as 3G" did not come up as a menu option. Or is this a re-exporting thing from Quicktime? (so many questions, so little time...!)

Just checked on my PC - there is no 3gp options in the Quicktime output settings - might placy with inporting the codec into the quicktime folder to see if that works.
