I've done all I can on this short -actually out of time. Need to add a sound track now and somehow get going on several other projects that wrap up this final week of the semester YAAAHHHHRRGGG!!! Sorry.

Anyway I uploaded a reduced sized AVI copy without sound. Even so it is 21.8 mb and will take 4-5 minutes at average DSL speeds. If anyone does have a fast connection and doesn't mind looking then there you go. After I add sound, and assuming all goes well, I'll be showing my stuff at an industry mixer on the Queen Mary next week.

It ain't perfect but I got electrified by seeing it comming together. I learned a lot that I will put into practice on my next project next semester.

Thanks to Rasheed for converting this there is a smaller (8mb) Divx option as well.

It is a VERY good animation short!!!!!
Why did'nt you put it into "Share your work"?
Hey Bupage! You seem to be shy of posting into Share Your work!!
Why? Your drawings and techs are cool!!
Come on!

Thanks. I always thought Share Your Work was for Moho/AS work. This was mainly done in Flash. :)

 I didn't realize that it was made with Flash. Forget my comment about that but no the congratulations for the good short. :)

I thought that was mostly done in Moho? At least the bg and character animation? I think this really should have sound. Even simple bg music would do.

I have sound in the finished product I'll compress it and upload when I get home tonight - I'm happy with it considering the time I've been in school.

I wanted to do stuff in AS, and think I will do some for my final project next semester. When I started this one I figured if most studios I'd be approaching were using Flash I'd better showcase Flash skills. However in the past couple months I think AS is reaching critical mass. I have a feeling its going to be adopted more and more into workflows for stuff that it is great at, and if the next update addresses and of the major concerns some have had it is going to really explode. In that case it makes sense to use it as some prospective employers who have heard of it might like a guy with some skill in a product they've been thinking about using.

Hey, Flash is a legit animation program. Don't have to be ashamed to use Flash for animation. I guess websites still want their animation made in the Flash format, because of the interactivity, although Ruby on Rails seems to be the main focus at this moment for web interactivity. Flash and Java are taking a backseat, in favor of rapid development tools.

It seems all good things are coming out of Japan nowadays (anime, Ruby) ;)

Primal Soup - With Sound

Uploaded a smaller version complete with sound as it will be shown. Unfortunately 34mb so not for the faint of heart. Probably 5 minutes on a DSL connection. If you have the time then I'd love your thoughts.

I got a student version of AutoDesk Cleaner with my academic 3DS Max license. I think this may allow me to get smaller formats? I'll check it out this weekend.

Once again Rasheed was kind enough to compress to DivX so a much smaller file of 10.6mb is available here.

Hi bupaje!
Well done! I like your different camera positions and the changing of views, it makes the storytelling great. The music and sound effects make a lot of difference from the first "silent" copy, I liked your work with the sound effects, and the abrupt cut of the beautiful piano music!

Thanks! I was actually making tweaks till the end -not really sure how to 'plan' music. Just dragging stuff that seemed right but in the end was only going on what felt right. Think I would be better off starting with music first.
