Why upgrade from Moho to Anime Studio Pro?

I see nothing that changes in the program except some free content. Is there any reason why I should spend 150 dollars on an upgrade that add almost nothing to the program I already have?

If you OWN Moho then why do you feel you need to pay extra? it was a free upgrade.

According to some posts here there were some minor fixes and there is an update on its way later this month.

Please read the 'announcements' to see what has happened. Maybe you have been away for a while and didn't get the email sent to all Moho users prior to the E Frontier acquisition.

I'd recommend to wait for a real change release. Th "upgrade" from Moho to AS was fine for all when it didn't cost, it makes sense in case you want to be included in further releases for a discount. Since AS and Moho still are exactly the same right now, you only need to "upgrade" if you can't live with the additional content - which, IMHO, is quite useless for any pro, but maybe helpful for a beginner.

I did upgrade. After all, it was free. But I continue to use Moho, only because it doesn't have the startup screen which delays the whole startup of the software by about three seconds on purpose.

I know that sounds like a small thing, but I remember reading a whole article about software development and how startup times of applications make a big difference in perceived speed of the software. Just look at Photoshop. A lot of people these days think about Photoshop as bloatware. That has a lot to do with its startup time, because once it's running its actually a very responsive app.

So why E-frontier always put these startup screens on all the apps they sell is beyond me. It just gives the impression of their apps being badly written bloatware.

Anyway, sorry to go off topic. My point is, download Anime Studio so you're eligible for future upgrades, but you can still keep on using Moho. No problem running both.

if you make click, the startup disappear. even if i not agree with the use of a startup, it doesn't represent an annoyance for me.

I guess my annoyance is not with the practicality of it but with the philosophy behind it. Actually, I don't even understand the philosophy behind it.

Since both Moho and AS in functionality are pretty much the same, I just continue to use the one that annoys me less.
