ok, i know i sort of already have this in my other thread, but, no one is reading that anymore, so anyways, i sort of get the z layer thing, if it means that you change the Z- position up one to make the layer go up. But, wich tool do you use to get the Z- position? if you use the traslate layer tool the layer gets massivly resized. it is over the other layer, but over the intire animation, it doesnt make a keyframe.
if no one understands what im tlkin about, its moving layers, and i made another thread about it that no one is looking at, so i made this thread.

I haven't done a whole lot with z-positions, as of yet, but as I understand, the trick is to use very, very small z changes. So, instead of changing the z level to 1, you'd use something more like, 0.01. With the translate tool selected, you should be able to see the the x, y, and z values at the top of the screen. You can manually type in 0.01 or -0.01 if you want to move the layer forward and back.

I have seen some people use an amount smaller than .01 but I wouldn't recommend it. In my testing anything smaller than .01 doesn't show up.
You can't use the mouse to make those types of changes, you must type in the value, then you can just copy and paste the key frames to avoid the hassle of typing in the values.
Another trick would be to use the "step" interpolation for layer translation. This will cause the layer to "jump" to that position exactly on the key frame. If you use smooth or linear key interpolation the layer will change z depth BETWEEN keys and it may not occur where you expect it to.

yeah, but when i change the z layer up, it goes up for the intire animation, not for the keyframe.

That's because you do it only at frame 0. You need to go to other frame (1, 2, 38, 1267, ... etc.) and restore the Z value of the layer to any other value. Then Anime Studio will do the rest of the work tweening the Z value between the keyframes you have inserted in the different frames.
