A wiki for Anime Studio

I want to create a wiki for Anime Studio.
So I have searched here and cannot decide what wikiserver is the best.
(So many options make me confused )

I want:
1) Completely free host space. As much as web space possible is best.
2) Prevention for vandalism. I mean only some moderators can validate the final pages of the wiki. All registered members can edit but only a few can publish. Meanwhile the pages modifications are under discussion.
3) If the editor is WYSIWYG better.
4) Obviously allow pictures and video embedded and hiperlinks.

Have anyone any advice on that?

I advise against free hosting - it's nearly always a pain in the ass: full of spam, no support really responsible, and the danger of being removed at any odd circumstance.

I prefer to pay for my webspace, because then it's all mine.

Maybe this would be in e-frontiers interest...?
They could provide the webspace for this.
Fahim?

Just a suggestion.

I'd like to offer help, I have a small space on my site for that, though I don't know if they allow a wiki on GoDaddy.

Have you tried other options like Wordpress and other free weblog packages? See http://www.wordpress.com

I thought I'd visited a thread with this subject previously on this forum. I did a search and this is what I found:

viewtopic.php?t=7099&highlight=moho+wiki

Basically, the thread dead-ends when someone posts this link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anime_Studio

I don't know if you're thinking along different lines. It seems to me that the Wikipedia entry is a little limited in its scope so if you're thinking of something more comprehensive, that would be great!

Yes it is clear but, who is going to offer a secure web space and install a wiki software?
I have not resources for that. Maybe like cap said e-frontier can help offering a wiki space.

Fahim have made a call for tutorials and some of us have reported some tutorials but... in my opinion a wiki is the best way to new users to understand the basics of Anime Studio in a quick way. The learning curve can be adapted by the user and go faster or slower depending on its abilities.

Also a wiki is the best way to cover all the aspects of the program. It is very easy to see what areas are not covered by the wiki and focus on them if needed. With the tutorial system you can have some spots of the capabilities of the program but not the overall functionality.

What I asked first was if someone knows a free wikispace where the experience of other similar wiki have had success and its security is reasonably high.
If it is a good wiki I'm sure e-frontier would rescue it and host it permanently.
But we need to start from a seed....

One thing a dedicated AS Wiki can cover that Wikipedia can't is the actual animation made using the software - Wikipedia is very picky about what webcartoons it'll cover.

ganete,

just to let you know i've allocated an hour looking into this.

it turns out mediawiki can be installed on a shared www.godaddy.com hosting package, though i still have yet to try it.

i'll keep you updated about the progress as this idea may take-off and fly.

i'm sure big files like movies and images will have to be served as links to sites like flickr, youtube and others.

Hi dlangdev!
I'm watching through other posts in the forum that you are preparing some additions to the wiki!!
That's great!
You have to forgive me for my poor collaboration on that but lately I have my small free time spent into refinishing the auto3Drig script. I hope that when finished every one would find very very easy create its own 3D rigs...

Meanwhile keep it up!!

Best
