I am trying to use ASP's grid feature to align things, but the program wants to snap my objects to the grid. Snap to Grid is turned off, and i know that because i turned it on, and then every selected point snapped to a grid point, which is not what I want. With Snap to Grid turned off, all the points don't individually snap, but the object still does, and i don't want that either. I just want the visual grid there as a reference as to where to move things. Is there any way to completely turn off Snap to Grid?

In the View-menu, you can check the "Disable Grid Snapping". Is this what you've done? That works for me at least.

Beyond Hiddicop advice you can use my align X and align Y tools. See them here.

Excellent! That's exactly what I need. I don't usually use the grid, so I didn't know about this, plus they've hidden it (to my mind) by putting it in a different menu than Snap to Grid. Oh well, that's the way it goes. Thank you, hiddicop, for that tip.
