Question about Scanned Images...

I searched through the online manual, but could not find an answer to a perplexing question I have. Here it is.

Is it possible to animate scanned images in Anime Studio Pro? The reason being, I can draw much better with pencil and paper than I can with a digital pad. But, I find myself wondering if scanned images can actually be animated within the program or not.

Also, is there a way to automatically trace over a scanned image using vector lines without having to do it manually?

Thanks for the help. : )

You can animate scanned images in ASPro in two ways:

[1] By applying bones to cut-out images, as shown in the Hula Girl tutorial.
[2] By vectorizing the scan using the freeware Inkscape. Note that Inkscape only vectorizes pure black-white images.

Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw offer more powerful vectorizing, at a cost.

Save your vectors in Illustrator Version 8 format.

you can animate images just importing them into AS and then putting the image layers inside a bone layer.

if you want a cropped image, you can use png files with alpha.
also, you can crop images using masks.

You can also do image warping with bones (flexible binding). It isn't... great... but it works. Don't expect to do anything like the "puppet" feature in the new After Effects.
