is it just me, or do AS files not work correctly in ASPRO?

i tryed to run my AS files and it didnt work, the frame rate became very sticky and slow, the bones were sticky and hard to move-- a real sticky mess!

i thought it was a problem with ASPRO, so i re-installed it. that didnt work and i found out that normal ASPRO files not from AS run smoothly and perfectly...

Shouldn't make any difference.

AS files are pretty much the same. I have ASPro and don't have this problem. Check your display quality settings. That can effect playback.

i have the setting on medium, is that the right one?
also, could it be that the problems are just there because its such a large file?

If you are comparing performance between the two different versions of the software the display settings should be the same in both.

It sounds a bit confusing. Is the large file playing better in AS than in ASpro?

If the file is "big" it should perform the same in both applications. Bigger files will run slower in general... bigger as in more effects and layers etc... not longer.

I own both versions, because i buy first regular AS and then decide to upgrade. I never use again the regular version becase, as its logic, start using the PRO version, but i dont find any problem using in PRO the files i develope inicialy in the regular version.

It might not just be the number of layers... I've had bunches of layers... but... er... not THAT many I don't think.

If you can try to combine the vector layers. Copy and paste shapes from multiple layers into one layer. The point animation, if you have any, will copy and paste.

How many bones do you have? I've found that HUGE numbers of bones (in the triple digits ;) ) will slow down working in the file... but not playback or rendering usually.

53 layers is a lot of layers. This may be causing trouble. Although, the same problems can occur with just a few layers and a whole bunch of complex shapes. The slow down is caused by the number of points and shapes more so than the number of layers.

Another thing that can cause performance issues would be particle layers.

Fill effects on shapes like, gradient, shading, etc and layer effects like blur or shading will slow down render times but usually they don't effect the real time display since they aren't visible.

So... simplify that file if you can. Reduce the number of points if you can. AS doesn't need a ton of points to animate smoothly.

Onionskin?
It is a feature that doesn't exists in AS and yes in the PRO version.
They are performance killers.
